The tragedy stirred no great unease along the Jersey shore; one of the minor tragedies of summer. Though a human could theoretically be accidentally sucked into a whale shark’s mouth if they were swimming close to its lips when it decided to take a gulp of krill or fish, this is never known to have occurred. Both males and females evolve reddish side, a bright green back, and hooked jaws. They move separately, allowing them to thrust forward and latch onto prey.

The killer whales have a higher chance… it of eating sharks because sharks and killer whales are both aquatic animals. Who out there has the tank big enough to adequately keep this monster? Chondrichthyes have been around for nearly 400 million years largely unchanged, having early on become superbly adapted to their ecological role. The tiger shark must be able to twist and turn in the water easily when hunting to support its varied diet, whereas the porbeagle shark, which hunts schooling fish such as mackerel and herring, has a large lower lobe to help it keep pace with its fast-swimming prey. [30] Other tail adaptations help sharks catch prey more directly, such as the thresher shark's usage of its powerful, elongated upper lobe to stun fish and squid.
