I really enjoy seeing if I can copy the greats on some of their easier licks. There is obvious West African influence, visible in terms of how the music is written and played; swing rhythm, polyrhythm, improvisation and syncopation are all prominent examples which are almost exclusively characteristics of jazz music. Other recordings that are still available were made in 1924 by Lawrence Gellert. Elvis, who started as a country singer, helped the genre develop into the more energetic, upbeat rock-n-roll. The 25-year old�s sophomore release comes on the heels of her debut, BOSS, which produced two Top 20 hits. From approximately 1971 to 1992, Miles Davis led bands in a sophisticated variation of this style, though his saxophone soloists also drew upon the methods of John Coltrane, and his guitarists also showed modern jazz thinking and Jimi Hendrix influence.

The rhythm books focus on teaching players to interpret & perform jazz styles using lead sheets & lead sheet type arrangements. He was more of a popular icon and entertainer than an auteur. Dies Irae is an example of a Gregorian Chant and if you watch the video below (the first one), you can listen to it. Electronic gets a bad rap because most people don't yet understand it. The history of jazz was, from the beginning, also the history of how the music industry learned to make music travel without making its musicians travel, first with the piano rolls of ragtime and then with the records of dixieland jazz.
